Darryl Fales
President
Darryl Fales is President of Preferred Materials, Inc. He holds a BA from the University of Central Florida, and an MBA from Florida Gulf Coast University. Darryl started his career in the concrete industry with Rinker Materials. He held multiple positions at Rinker including being selected to help design and implement the company's new $100 million SAP software system. Upon completion of the company-wide SAP roll-out, Darryl was promoted to region manager with full P&L responsibility for Rinker's operations in southwest Florida. After the divestment in 2007, Darryl joined Preferred Materials as Vice President South Florida, and continued his focus in the southern Florida markets.
In June 2010, Darryl was an integral part of the Schwab Ready Mix acquisition, and led the integration of those assets into Preferred Materials. He was promoted to the position of President shortly after, and the business was reorganized with other Oldcastle Materials companies in Florida. Preferred Materials, now based in Bonita Springs, is part of the Oldcastle Southern Group, which includes Preferred Materials Inc., Conrad Yelvington Distributors, and APAC Southeast.
David J. Cerniglia
Vice President, Sales & Marketing
David Cerniglia has 18 years of operational and sales experience in the concrete and building materials industry. He began his career with Rinker Materials (now Cemex) in the Ft. Lauderdale market area where he performed multiple assignments leading up to Region Sales Manager. In 2005 he transferred to Rinker's Southwest Florida Region in the same capacity.
David joined Preferred Materials in 2007 following Cemex's divestment of assets to Oldcastle. His managerial focus now includes Sales & Marketing for all of Florida. In addition to his sales role; David has led the company wide Oldcastle Performance System initiative and assisted with the integration of the Schwab acquisition. David holds a BS degree in Finance from Penn State University.
Jeremy P. Minnillo
Director of Quality Control & Technical Services
Jeremy Minnillo has worked in concrete technology for 20 years. He began his career at Master Builders Technologies working in Research and Development. During his time at Master Builders he held positions such as Technical Document Editor, Assistant Electro Chemist, and Technical Sales Representative. Additionally, Jeremy has worked for WR Grace as a Technical Sales Rep and managed the Sales and QC departments at Sierra Ready Mix in Las Vegas, NV. Jeremy has experience in mix design development, the introduction of SCC and specially designed color mixes, and the development of a QC plans multiple companies. He has worked with the CIM program at MTSU to mentor students, guest speak, and advise on the Concrete Canoe Team.
Jeremy joined Preferred Materials in April of 2008 and assumed the position of Director of QC and Technical Services for Ready Mix Concrete, block, and aggregate for Florida. Jeremy is dedicated to working closely with PMI's customers to enhance the quality of their projects, help discover creative solutions for their problems, and realize opportunities for Green Construction.
