About Preferred Materials
Preferred Materials was formed in 2007 through the acquisition of Ready Mix Concrete's concrete block and building materials assets throughout Florida. These assets include 32 plants in the Panhandle, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, and SW Florida markets.
In 2010, the assets of Schwab Ready Mix were acquired, which helped integrate Preferred Materials' delivery capabilities throughout the west coast of Florida.
We are proud of our highly experienced and expert employees - many of whom worked for well-known companies such as Cemex, Keys Concrete, Schwab Ready Mix and Rinker Materials. As part of the Oldcastle family, and headquartered in Bonita Springs, our diversity is a source of our strength.
